Higgs and Hill Overseas has appointed Stephen Jones as managing director. He succeeds David Hill who remains chairman of the company.

Jones has served as a director of Higgs and Hill companies since joining the group in 1990 and has been commercial director of Higgs and Hill since early 1992. His career in the construction industry spans 30 years.

Norwest Holst has appointed Terry Wood as divisional director of building. Roger Coombs has also been appointed as regional director of the civil engineering division for the south.

Ken Fox has been appointed group managing director of Allen plc, succeeding Donald Greenhalgh who remains executive chairman. Fox joined the group as an engineer.

Tarmac Construction has appointed Euan McEwan as its finance director. He succeeds Graham Westwood who has retired.

McEwan, a chartered accountant, joins the Tarmac Group from Coopers and Lybrand Management Consultancy division.

The building division of Tarmac Construction has appointed Chris Saunders to the new post of marketing director. He will co-ordinate the sales and marketing activities of the building division's regional offices in the UK.

Mowlem Facilities Management has appointed Chris Nelhams as business development manager for the southern area of its national FM business.

Mike Cole has been appointed business procurement manager for the London and South East region of Tilbury Douglas Construction's building division. Cole will be responsible for all estimating and marketing aspects.
