TUPE test trial put on hold
Prospects of a test case to show that the TUPE regulations may
apply in the event of a subcontractor bankruptcy have been put on
hold after an industrial tribunal preliminary hearing of a claim by
15 bricklayers left with œ45,000 unpaid wages after the
collapse of Vogue (Northern). The AEEU has been told it can pursue
the men's TUPE claim but that they should first approach the
Department of Employment for compensation.
