Thomas tidies up after big birds
The first Thomas T-83 'S' series skid steer loader to help out on
an ostrich farm has been supplied by Thomas dealer, Tony Cotton
(Plant Hire and Sales).
Hill House Ostrich Farm, one of the UK's largest breeders of
ostriches, has been using the skid steer to clear breeding sheds of
the used straw which, if left, is likely to spread disease.
The skid steer's quick-tach system allows immediate change from
standard bucket to fork and grab, ideal for the tasks of shifting
straw, hay and removing debris.
Power is supplied by a 14.8kW Kubota diesel. Compact dimensions -
the T-83 'S' is just 914mm wide - enable the machine to tackle
tight corners and narrow doorways.
The 1,813mm high machine lifts 363kg to 2,375mm.
