John Webb buys Hilta Plant
John Webb, ex-managing director of Thwaites and Benford, has bought
Coventry-based pump manufacturer Hilta Plant.
Successful completion of the negotiations follows a year- long
search for a quality, small plant manufacturing business. Webb has
been backed by finance house Midland Growth Capital.
The sale follows the retirement of its owners, Peter and John
Clarke, who started the business in 1973. Webb said: 'Hilta has
earned an enviable reputation for product design and reliability. I
aim to maintain and build on the reputation by broadening the range
of pumps and adding additional equipment of the types favoured by
non-operated plant hirers and utilities.'
