HA seeks bids for road maintenance

The Highways Agency is putting the first of 30 motorway and trunk road maintenance management contracts out to tender. The move follows hard on the heels of the Agency's decision two weeks ago to take the œ700 million road management programme out of council control and into the private sector.

The contract is for the management and supervision of 295km of motorway and 98km of trunk roads in Yorkshire and Humberside.
