Board checks out partnering

Initiatives emerging from the latest Construction Industry Board meeting include:

n a new working group is to be formed to examine the concept of partnering. It will be chaired by a client nominee;

n the board was told that the National Audit Office is to report to Parliament shortly on the Ministry of Defence procurement policy for capital works;

n the board will take on responsibility for overseeing implementation of a 'Whole Industry Research Strategy' if it decides to remain in being after 1995;

n the working group on the industry's image is being reformed to take forward the recommendations in its earlier report;

n the working group paper on liability law reform has been sent to the Environment Department as a response to its recent consultation document.
