CIoB plans growth

The Chartered Institute of Building has launched an expansion plan designed to double its size to 60,000 over the next 10 years .

Colin Harding, CIoB president, said: 'Our vision is that by the year 2005 the CIoB will be recognised as the leading professional body for management in construction, our members will be leaders of the construction team.'



Building materials sales down

Sales of building materials were down 1.2% for the three months January to March 1995 when compared with the same period in 1994 according to the latest sales survey by the Builders Merchants Federation.



MDA and Midland agree loans and overdraft

The MDA Group, the UK-based quantity surveying and project management company, has reached a new financing package with Midland Bank which includes a traditional overdraft, a term loan and what has been dubbed a 'participatory loan' which carries interest at base rate with an additional charge based on a share - which rises to 15% - of MDA's pre-tax profit.
