Liebherr imports wheelie A312

The first Liebherr A312 wheelies have recently reached the UK. Although the model is very popular on the Continent, Liebherr has held off bringing it here. Now that wheelies are in demand it would seem an ideal time to tackle the market.

The A312 weighs from 12.3 to 12.8 tonnes and is powered by a Deutz water-cooled four-cylinder diesel. Standard power output is 63kW but a 'Speeder' version developing 68kW is optional to give higher operating performance and higher on road travel speeds.

Twin swash plate pumps provide hydraulic flow of 224litres/ min. at a pressure of 320 bar. ECO control has three settings from High through Econo to Fine. Flow is biased to boom and dipper but with selectable priority to slew as required.

Transmission is two-speed powershift with an additional electronically actuated 'creeper' speed. standard top speed is 20kph but a 'Speeder' unit will go 30kph. Hydraulic wet multi-disc brakes look after stopping and either four or eight wheels are optional. Stabilising system can be either two-point outriggers or a prop-up 'dozer blade to choice. Bucket size varies up to 0.75m3 and maximum digging depth is just short of 6m at best. You don't have to have them in white by the way!
