UK project managers lured to east
A team of project management experts flew to China this week to
take part in a seminar organised by the Institution of Civil
Engineers, the Chinese Government and the British Council.
The seminar, from 22 May to 2 June, is being held near Shanghai and
will focus on international project management.
The event follows a DTI trade mission to China which confirmed that
there is a massive construction market in the country with many
opportunities.
The UK team is led by ICE's director of engineer Amar Bhogal and
includes Martin Barnes of Coopers and Lybrand and Roger Millburn of
Ove Arup.
Bhogal said: 'China's economy is in transition, benefiting from a
massive programme of infrastructure investment. The UK has much to
offer.'
