PROPOSALS FOR A CONTRACTS BILL

nA statutory scheme under which certain forms of

construction contract would be recognised as

standard forms or packages. Such forms would include

provision for: rapid resolution of disputes, for example,

by an informal adjudicator; limitation of set-off;

encouragement of prompt payment; protection against

insolvency, for example, by the use of trust funds.

nIt would be illegal to amend or delete the above items

from standard forms.

nParties would not be required to use standard forms.

Views are sought on the extent to which bespoke forms should be regulated.
