Pirtek mops up the waste oil

Increasingly stringent health and safety legislation allied to environmental protection requires a rapid response to accidental oil spillage.

To meet this need Pirtek's new energy oil spill kit comes complete with 20 polypropylene pads, each capable of abosorbing up to 25 times their own weight in oil. Being hydrophobic, the pads do not soak up water, and are only effective when it comes to the absorption of oil.

As well as the pads the kit contains four 1200mm long socks, a disposal bag and equipment suitable for hydraulic hose or component failure.

While the pads are placed on top of the spill to soak up the waste oil, the socks are used to surround the spillage.
