Rockwool for fire prevention

Rockwool Conlit 150, a fire prevention material from Rockwool, has recently been used on structural steel throughout the new Alfred McAlpine stadium at Kirklees, Huddersfield. Conlit passive protection is said to render the the structural members resistant to fire for up to four hours.

At a basic level, Conlit 150 systems are robust boards of compressed mineral wool derived from non-combustible volcanic rock. They can be 'V' cut, mitred or butt jointed depending on the application they are to be used for.
