A giant in rock circles

Grayston White and Sparrow is on a musical roll at the moment. Having helped stage Vera Lynn and Co. at the Hyde Park VE Day celebrations last month, the crane hirer has just clinched deals with the Rolling Stones and Bon Jovi for forthcoming Wembley and Sheffield concerts. It is not clear whether David Barrass, GWS managing director (left), is a Stones or BJ fan - his choice of attire would perhaps suggest not - but Backbites can authoratively deny rumours that Mick and the boys struck the deal with GWS at Haydock the other day.
