Stan stocks up with Leyland DAF tippers

Two Leyland DAF 85 Series 8X4 tippers have joined the 20 vehicle fleet of Chorley-based sand and gravel merchants Stan Stock.

Fitted with Grisdale aluminium bodies and Edbro and Hyva tipping gear respectively, the vehicles are powered by the 330bhp version of Leyland DAF's 12 litre ATi diesel.

Driving through an eight speed ZF gearbox, the unit's ability to combine high torque with low revs, offers users excellent fuel economy, it is claimed.
