Thwaites 7t dumper on seawall duty

A Thwaites 7t dumper, on hire from Highway Plant, is helping contractors with the repair of sea defence walls close to St Michael's Mount in Cornwall.

The section being repaired, following last winter's storms, runs from Long Rock to Marazian at Mounts Bay.

The dumper, on hire to main contractor Dean and Dyball, is being used to carry large rocks, central to the repair of the wall's damaged defences.

Features of the dumper include a 106bhp Perkins turbo diesel and four speed powershift transmission. The transmission permits fingertip changes of speed and direction via a single control lever.
