Pay board agrees 3.1% craft rise
The building and civil engineering joint board this week agreed a
3.1% pay rise to take effect from 26 June. The deal gives a new
hourly craft rate of œ4.45 and a general operative hourly rate
of œ3.68.
The craft rate is increased by a total of 6.2%. It includes a
previously agreed 3% rise as part of a pay restructure. Benefit
stamp values and sick pay are frozen.
The extra craft rise does not apply to woodwork shops and this led
to the GMB union declining to accept the deal. It is being
recommended by both Ucatt and the TGWU.
