Bovis Construction has won a œ6m design and construct contract to enlarge and extend the existing Marks & Spencer store in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. The 11 month contract will add an extra 1,400m2 of sales space.

David McLean Contractors has been awarded a œ5m d&b contract by Shell UK Retail Development to construct 11 new service stations around the country.

Allen Building has reached an agreement with Arthur Andersen, the receivers of FE Wood Group, to complete six contracts and minor works worth a total of œ2.5m. The work had been commenced by Wood's subsidiary Kellard.

Glasgow-based Luddon Construction has won a œ2m contract to refurbish Kwik Save's distribution depot in Dunfermline and has also won a three-year maintenance contract at Glasgow Airport.

Taymech has won a œ1.8m contract for a prefabricated pipework system as part of Motorola's expansion at east Kilbride in Scotland.

Morrison Construction has secured a œ1.8m contract to improve the M1 interchange at junction 42 near Leeds.

Nottingham Trent University is seeking to prequalify contractors for a œ7.5m project. The work involves demolition of existing buildings, construction, commissioning and fit-out of a 9,000m2 learning resource centre over six levels.

BAA, property subsidiary Lynton, is inviting tenders for the construction of a 150-bed immigration detention centre at Bedfont Industrial Park North, Ashford, Middlesex. The work on the 6,600m2 building includes external works and drainage.
