Norwest lays off staff
The 180-strong workforce at Norwest Holst steelwork subsidiary

Steve Lidgate, chief executive of Laing Homes, has been appointed a
director of John Laing. Lidgate joined Laing in 1992 from Beazer

CM not so popular in US
The popularity of construction management in its pure form may be
declining in the US, according to ENR magazine's ranking of the top
100 CM firms. Total fees billed were down almost 20%.
