Cummins Diesel crosses town to new HQ
Cummins Diesel, the sales service and parts organisation which
supports Cummins engines in the UK and Ireland, has moved across
Wellingborough to a new architect-designed head office complex
costing around œ3.4 million.
The new premises are on Park Farm South a newly-developed and fast
growing industrial complex to the North of the town.
The new CD complex is 130% larger at 2.02ha and has given the
company the opportunity to tailor the design to suit its purposes.
With activities concentrated in one building communications between
departments should become easier.
In addition engine upfit, workshops and storage space is increased
by more than 60 per cent to 67,500 sq ft. 'Cummins Diesel's
turnover has trebled in a decade' said regional director Eric
Boyson. 'Engine unit sales are around 6,000 a year. Wellingborough
is an ideal location. With this new facility we improve our
services but retain our links with the town which has been our HQ
for more than 25 years.'
