Costain Marine International has been awarded a œ7m contract by NOVITA Construction Company for piling works at Malta Freeport. Work involves building 72 cellular cofferdams.

JF Donelon has begun work on the œ6.2m Kelvin Valley Bishopbriggs link sewer for Strathclyde Water and on the œ2.2m Harwich to Dovercourt sewer scheme for Anglian Water.

Matthew Hall Building Services has been awarded a œ4.6m contract for the M&E and fire protection refit of a computer machine room at the IBM Megacentre in Portsmouth.

Norwest Holst has just started work on a œ3.5m contract awarded by The London Hospital Medical College to construct a new clinical research building in Whitechapel. The 54 week contract includes construction of a 3,500m2, four-storey research laboratory.

Tussac Construction has been awarded a œ3.5m contract to build six units between 929m2 and 2,322m2 at Britannia Park, Wednesbury for Folkes Properties.

Dean & Dyball Construction has been awarded three contracts totalling œ5m including a new spine road for Plymouth Development Corporation, a leachate treatment plant in Plymouth for Devon Waste Management and a nursing home in Paignton for Crestacare Properties.

Synpac Pharmaceuticals has unveiled plans for a new œ6.8m state of the art plant at its Cambois factory in Northumberland.

French Kier Anglia has a œ2.5m D&B contract for 56 dwellings for The Guinness Trust in Southend, Essex.
