Association launches new scheme

The Single Ply Roofing Association has launched a 10-year insurance backed guarantee scheme against insolvency or defective workmanship and/or materials. The scheme, only available from SPRA contractor members, has options for both commercial and domestic contracts.

The basic premium rate for commercial contracts is 2% of contract price (plus insurance premium tax) applied to contracts up to the value of œ250,000. The Certificate of Insurance is freely transferable to any subsequent owner of the buildings, within the 10 year guarantee period.

If a higher indemnity limit is requested, individual risks may be underwritten. For domestic contracts a flat premium of œ40 is payable.
