Bovis has started work on a œ7m contract to design and construct an extension to Marks & Spencer's store in Henry Street, Bath. The extension will add 2,700m2 of space to the store.

Wembley-based contractor PJ Carey has been awarded a œ4m contract to build a 2km road, linking the A418 Oxford Road with Rabans Lane and the A41 Bicester Road near Aylesbury. The scheme will be the main spine road for the Fairford Leys, village development.

Birse has won a œ3m contract for Phase 2 of the Spey Abstraction scheme. The work for North of Scotland Water Authority involves the construction of a storage reservoir.

Wates Construction has secured a œ2.8m contract to construct two distribution warehouses at Lydiard Fields, Swindon in Wiltshire for The Equitable Life Assurance Society.

Wescol Structures of Halifax have won a œ2.5m contract to fabricate and supply steelwork for a cigarette factory and tobacco leaf store in Uzbekistan for main contractor John Laing.

Lovell Construction has been awarded a œ2.4m design and build contract to construct a 365 space multi-storey car park at the Royal Sussex County Hospital at Brighton.

Wiggins Gee Construction has œ3.5m worth of contracts for Bristol City Council to refurbish and extend three secondary schools and construct a new area operation office at Fishponds.

Fearnley Construction is working on a œ1.6m contract to refurbish the Merchants Warehouse in Castlefield for Castlefield Estates.
