Balfour Beatty's Scottish Building Division has a œ7m contract from the European Development Company to construct the Queens Link Leisure Park on Beach Boulevard in Aberdeen. It also has a œ4.5m contract to refurbish D Hall at Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow.

Britannia Construction has won the contract to construct a new 4,784m2 superstore for Tesco in Ebbw Vale in Wales. Completion is due in January 1997.

Miller Construction has begun work on a œ4.6m contract to construct two retail units for Wyncote Developments in Crawley.

Mowlem has won a œ2.6m contract for refurbishment work and the construction of a new two storey building at Bury College, in Bury.

Wates Construction has been awarded a œ1.8m contract to construct the new South Buckinghamshire Pinnacle Health & Leisure Club in Wexham for Wates Leisure.
