Engineer of the year
The Association of Municipal Engineers has named Edwin Doyle,
director of technical services at the London Borough of Newham, as
Municipal Engineer of the Year for 1996.
Ashe Construction
Mike Woodhouse has been appointed as surveying director to the
board of Ashe Con-struction (Southern) Ltd.
Tarmac Quarry
Newbury based Tarmac Quarry Products (Southern) has appointed Ellen
Shove as its new environmental officer. Shove brings with her two
years environmental management experience with former employer,
Wimpey.
FIEC Presidency
The European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) has announced
the election of contractor Ioannis Papa-ioannou as its new
president. Papaioannou, president of the Greek Federation PEDMEDE,
will succeed outgoing Professor Dr Thomas Rogge.
Northcroft
Northcroft construction consultants and quantity surveyors has
appointed Brian Wade, director of the Leamington Spa office, as a
main board director . Steve Smith becomes director for cost
planning. Jeremy Phillips and Trevor Lawson have become associate
directors.
Wrenco
Wrenco (Contractors) has appointed Paul Houston to the new post of
business development manager. He was formerly head of the civil
engineering division at the John Sisk Group.
IHIE PRESIDENT elected
Stuart Dungworth, a senior engineer with Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick
has been elected as president of the Institute of Highway
Incorporated Engineers for the next two years. He succeeds Peter
Dipper to become the Institute's fifth president.
