FTA's Euro warning
Britain's increasingly Euro-sceptic political stance is
jeopardising her influence on future policies including those
affecting transport and industry, the Freight Transport Association
warned this week.
The FTA's Brussels office is concerned about EU officials'
suspicion that Britain's continual criticism indicates that it is
not a fully committed member of the EU.
FTA director-general David Green said: "The influence of British
industry is being put in jeopardy by the recent intense attacks on
European policy and ideas."
An FTA spokesman added: "We are being severely hindered by our
constant Euro-scepticism and it is making it much harder for us to
contribute to transport policies of the future which will have a
serious impact on British industry."
