Halligan on big spending spree

A surge in business has encouraged TP Halligan plant hire to spend more than œ350,000 on new construction equipment.

The Manchester-based company recently purchased five JCB 3CX Sitemasters and a JCB JS130 tracked excavator. After a month the demand for new machines was so high, that the company placed an order for three more JCB Sitemasters.

Managing director Tommy Halligan said: "We had a very successful year in 1995 and have been as busy this year.'

The company which has a fleet of more than sixty machines, was founded in 1984. Originally employing six people TP Halligan - which supplies a broad range of contractors including Taylor Woodrow - has 45 people on its books and an annual turnover of œ2.5 million.
