Azerbaijan pipeline

John Brown Engineers & Constructors, part of Kvaerner John Brown, has been awarded a contract by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company for the engineering, procurement and construction management of the Western Route pipeline project. The pipeline will export oil from Baku to the Georgian coast of Black Sea.

The total project cost is estimated at œ180 million for the refurbishment of the existing pipeline, installation of the new pipeline sections, pumping stations, communication and control systems and an export loading facility on the Black Sea coast. Contracts for the major construction work are due to be awarded by the end of 1996.
