The pick of œ20m in new orders won by Granite Construction,
the contracting arm of the property group Birch, is a œ7.8m
contract to build 6,900m2 of office space at the Phoenix Centre,
Nottingham.
FJ Construction, part of the Jackson Group, has been awarded a
œ7m contract to design and build a private hospital on the
outskirts of Ipswich for Independent Care Management. Jackson Civil
Engineering has a œ1.3m contract to reconstruct 250m of the
Thames river wall in Gallions Reach.
Norwest Holst has been awarded a œ6.3m contract by the
Metropolitan Police to construct a three-story building at Staines
Police Station in Middlesex.
Birse has secured a œ3.6m award from BNFL for the Hex Line 3
building at Springfields, near Preston. It also has a œ2.6m
contract at ICI Melinex in Dumfries to provide civils works for an
industrial building.
Shepherd has a œ2.8m contract to refurbish 37 houses and 42
flats on the Glyntaff Farm Estate in Pontypridd for Newydd Housing
Association and two contracts, worth a total of œ2.2m, for the
redevelopment of the Pavilion and Indoor School at Lancashire
County Cricket Club, Old Trafford.
Ballast Wiltshier has won a œ2.7m contract to build the new
Bonarsteads leisure pool at Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Kier London has started work on a œ1.7m contract to construct
a three-storey Academic Neuroscience Centre for the Institute of
Psychiatry at King's College Hospital in London.
Faithful & Gould have been appointed as facilities managers for
Esso Petroleum for an unspecified period. Works will cover
building, electrical and all insurance work on UK petrol stations.
