Allen's "excellent start"
Allen Group has had an excellent start to the year, with all
sectors performing strongly, said chairman Donald Greenhalgh at the
firm's AGM last week.
In the first three months of the new financial year, Allen's
building divisions won contracts worth over œ13 million.
Speaking in Manchester, Greenhalgh said: "Work in hand is at record
levels."
Allen subsidiary DJ Ryan has rolling contracts, let on a 3-5 year
cycle, with North West Water, Norweb and British Gas distributor
Transco.
The new cycle with North West Water started on 1 April. The client
plans to spend œ60 million over the next three years. The
company has won two of North West Water's regions: West Manchester
and South Lakes. Depots have been established in both areas and
extra workforce have been signed on.
