Bruce Russell, joint managing director of Taylor Woodrow
Construction, has been appointed to the main Board of Taylor
Woodrow.
Russell, who oversees international operations as joint
construction md alongside John McKenna, joined Taywood in 1969 and
became involved in a variety of major construction projects
overseas - notably in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Romania, Sierra
Leone, and Borneo.
A series of promotions saw him move from director of Taywood's Asia
Pacific operations, to md of its international construction
business in 1992. Here, Russell achieved a doubling of company
turnover with losses translated into substantial profit by the end
of 1995.
His position as joint md of Taylor Woodrow Construction arose
earlier this year when Taywood's UK and international construction
businesses were merged into a new global company.
Group chairman, Colin Parsons said: "It is with great pleasure that
we have invited Bruce to join the main Board. He has played an
invaluable role in building up our successful international
construction business. I am confident he will make a major
contribution to the Board's deliberations in the years ahead."
