John scoops new position

Wrekin Construction announced last week the appointment of a managing director for utilities, reflecting the company's increasing focus on the market.

John Evans, already a director of Wrekin Construction with responsibility for the company's design and build, and commercial operations, has scooped the newly created position.

Evans will oversee the utilities division which has forward orders in excess of œ30 million with British Telecom BT and the water industry. Wrekin is also currently working on a £30 million term contract for BT.

Evans told CJ: "I aim to consolidate and strengthen Wrekin's position in the utilities industry through this new appointment, in addition to undertaking my current responsibilities."
