The breakaway Major Contractors Group has recruited a further five
top companies, bringing the total number of members to 16.
Latest recruits to construction's "super league" are Ballast Wiltshier, Kvaerner Construction, The Miller Group, Raine, and Willmott Dixon. They join the founding members who were Alfred McAlpine, Amec, Amey, Balfour Beatty, Bovis, Costain, Laing, Mowlem, Sir Robert McAlpine, Tarmac and Taylor Woodrow.
The MCG has taken offices at The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London, WC1E 7BT (Tel: 0171 631 1340). The director is Jennie Price.
Members of the group have given notice of their intention to withdraw from the BEC and the FCEC.
