Prismo takes the high road
Trials on high performance road markings are being conducted around
Loch Lomond by the Dumbarton highway authority.
The move follows an Ecodyn road marking assessment undertaken by
Prismo on behalf of the Scottish Office.
Dumbarton called for Prismo to lay the highly reflective road
markings to a specification of 150 milli candelas of light/m2, the
first time such a material has been laid in Scotland.
The Scottish Office National Roads Directorate has since included
an intervention level of 100 milli candelas of light/m2 in its
specification for premium and all-purpose road networks.
Performance checks will take place every two years on the markings
by survey, commencing this year.
