Taymel's œ45m biomass deal

Taylor Woodrow Management & Engineering (Taymel) has signed a œ45 million turnkey contract for the design and construction of a new poultry-litter fired power station at Thetford in Norfolk.

The plant is being constructed for Fibrowatt under the Government's Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation, which supports power generation from renewable energy sources. The plant will export 38.5MW of electricity to the National Grid. The Thetford plant will be Fibrowatt's third biomass power station.

Taymel has been working with Fibrowatt on biomass power projects since 1994. Work has covered plant design and support for the planning application and environmental consents. Taymel will be supported by other Taylor Woodrow companies including, Birtley Engineering, Taywood Civil Engineering and Taywood Engineering.
