Taymel's œ45m biomass deal
Taylor Woodrow Management & Engineering (Taymel) has signed a
œ45 million turnkey contract for the design and construction
of a new poultry-litter fired power station at Thetford in
Norfolk.
The plant is being constructed for Fibrowatt under the Government's
Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation, which supports power generation from
renewable energy sources. The plant will export 38.5MW of
electricity to the National Grid. The Thetford plant will be
Fibrowatt's third biomass power station.
Taymel has been working with Fibrowatt on biomass power projects
since 1994. Work has covered plant design and support for the
planning application and environmental consents. Taymel will be
supported by other Taylor Woodrow companies including, Birtley
Engineering, Taywood Civil Engineering and Taywood Engineering.
