Home Office opts for PFI
The private sector is being invited to revamp six buildings
occupied by the Home Office under the Private Finance Initiative.
The contract will cover provision of finance, design, procurement,
construction and/or refurbishment, maintenance and probably support
services.
The six buildings in London are Horseferry House, Cleland House,
Abell House, 50 Queen Anne's Gate, Grenadier House and Clive House.
Around 80,000m2 of office space is required. But at least one or
more of the existing buildings are expected to be surplus to
requirements following cuts in civil service staff.
The private sector partner will be invited to draw up proposals for
the disposal of the surplus space.
