Clayton secures Millennium job
Edmund Nuttall has appointed Clayton Evironmental Consultants to
monitor the remediation of part of the former gasworks on the East
Greenwich peninsula, the site of the Millennium Exhibition.
Nuttall won the contract to clean up the 19ha core area of polluted
land from Port Greenwich, the subsidiary of British Gas which is
responsible for the regeneration of the entire 121ha site.
Consultant for the project is WS Atkins; project manager is MSL
Consultancy.
The remediation work will involve major excavation plus the
establishment of an on-site water treatment plant and soil
treatment area to deal with contaminated land. Clayton is to
monitor the remediation work using an on-site laboratory.
Clayton's job for Nuttall follows the successful completion of the
project to reclaim Prospect Park near Heathrow Airport.
