Welwyn Garden City based stone contractor, Grant Ameristone, has fought off stiff competition to win a œ16 million contract to supply and install granite flooring at Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airport.

Willmott Dixon Construction is building a œ6.5m David Lloyd Leisure Centre at Meanwood on the outskirts of Leeds. It comprises 16 tennis courts plus swimming pools, squash and badminton courts.

United House and Network Housing have started work on a œ6m project in Hammer-smith, West London to provide 64 new homes for rent and shared equity purchase

A consortium of Miller Construction and British Linen Bank has been chosen by the North Durham NHS Trust as its preferred partner to build a new œ5m replacement community hospital at Chester-le-Street.

Shepherd has been awarded a œ4.5m contract to refurbish No.2 Cavendish Square, London W1, for Swan Hill Developments. It also has a œ2.5m contract for the construction of industrial units at Trafford Park in Manchester for Arrowcroft Group.

Wallis, part of the Kier Group, has won a œ3.8m contract to build a new motorway service area on the M20 in Kent for RoadChef Motorways.
