Shorco's Profits up
Shorco Group Holdings, the Leeds-based plant hire and security
accommodation specialist, has announced increased profits in its
interim results for the first half of 1996. The company turned in a
pretax profit of œ412,000 on a turnover of œ6.5 million,
compared with 1995's œ313,000 profit on turnover of œ5.7
million.
All-electric site powered by gas
Chester-based waste management specialist 3C Waste has gone live
with a new waste-gas-to-energy scheme in North Wales and is working
closely with Caterpillar dealer Finning. The CAT 3516 SITA engine
will run on waste gas from Buckley, Flintshire Standard Landfill
Site. It powers a generator developing more than one megawatt of
electricity. That is enough to supply 30% of Buckley's needs.

New hoist from RDS
The Maber rack and pinion hoist from RDS Supplies can go to a
height of 120m yet needs just 2.7kW of power so it could run off a
three-pin plug if necessary. But it can carry two barrows on its
1.5m by 1.3m platform and has a total capacity of 300kg. It is
fully equipped with an overspeed brake, interlocked platform and
ramps, anti-crush facility, mast sensing device and landing
control. It was designed to meet the draft CEN standards for

Suzuki GB has gone on-line with its own Internet site -
http://www.suzuki.co.uk. Users can see information on all of
Suzuki's products including generators, water pumps, vehicles and
engines. The site includes a map of the UK: users can click with a
mouse on a specific area to obtain a full listing of dealers in the
given region. There is also a news section which gives information
