Sheriff acquires another hirer

Sheriff Holdings has bought Pace Plant the Birmingham-based plant hirer for œ250,000 in cash. Last year Pace achieved an operating profit of just œ56,000 on a turnover of œ1.28 million.

The Warwick branch of the recently-acquired Ballards Plant will be merged with Pace' central Birmingham activity.

Pace mainly supplies non-operative equipment but also has a tool hire and a cabin hire division. These will be merged into specialist divisions of Sheriff to achieve synergistic cost-savings.
