Clearing the mess

The Officers' Mess at Royal Air Force Bentley Priory in Stanmore, Middlesex was severely damaged by fire in 1979, but has now been completely restored. A smoke detection system from Guardian Fire has been installed to ensure earliest possible detection and avoid another fire. A discrete system was used, which uses air sampling as the method of smoke detection with very small sampling points.
