Birse Construction shake-up

Birse Construction's building managing director Brian Jackson and civils managing director David Blackburn are leaving the company following a management shake-up.

Birse Chairman, Peter Birse, said: "It was agreed they would rather leave than see a change of job function."

The changes follow an internal review of the company's effectiveness and efficiency which led to a new emphasis on partnering and teamwork.

Ray Sansom, director of the South East building division is also to leave the company.

The spokesman said: "People have had to alter the way they operate under the new culture. Some have found the new openness easy to adapt, others have struggled."
