Trust's œ16m invite

United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust is inviting tenders for a œ16 million project for a dedicated children's hospital building.

The six-storey building will provide 13,500m2 of floor space and will be situated at the New Bristol Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Upper Maudlin Street in the city centre. Applications need to be in by 27 May 1997.

The work will be divided into two contracts: a œ1.5 million groundworks contract and a œ14.5 million superstructure and finishings contract.

Contractors can bid for both packages which will be let under a fixed-price lump sum contract. The groundworks contract should begin in June and finish by the end of the year, to be followed by the main works. Completion is due by the end of 1999.
