From Germany comes Anton Ruthman GmbH with its range of truck,
trailer and even crawler-mounted platforms. There are 26 units in
the range and working heights go up to 70m. Also from Germany Wumag
will bring its Elfuant truck mounted platforms for the first time
to SED '97.
The Sky King stand will be showing its truck-mounted platforms
which go to a height of 27m and its Van-mounts which go to 10m. All
the Sky King range is CE-marked for this year. The company also
distributes Ferrari hydraulic lorry loader cranes and Altec
insulated aerial platforms in the UK. See them on the stand.
Max Access is a name which tells you exactly what it does, the
Spider TS/30 is a neat, diesel/electric, two-man (200kg) access
platform which will go up to 30m yet pass through a standard
doorway. It will be joined by the Faraone P14000E vertical lift
platform which will take 200kg up to 14m.
hirers
Hirers aren't neglected this year and Mastclimbers will show what
the UK's biggest privately-owned mastclimbing work platform hirer
can do. As Mastclimbers' proud boast tells you "We take the hassle
out of access problems." If you have problems talk to
Mastclimbers.
Versalift is currently building 163 Eurotel machines for British
Telecom and it will have one on its stand. There will be two more
Eurotels, one on a M-B Unimog and the other on the popular Iveco
Daily.
PPM Terex has a new UK distributor, European Cranes Ltd., which
will make its SED debut this year. Also you can see PPM Quadral
cranes with all-terrain and rough-terrain ability.
JLG Industries (Europe) will be showing two new models at SED'97,
the 26MRT is a rough-terrain scissor lift with 9.75m working
height. It's joined by the new JLG 40ic and 45ic articulating boom
lifts with working heights of 14.02m and 15.54m respectively. The
MRT should handle rough sites easily while the ic artics will
enable you to reach across and over many large obstacles.
wide range
Another hirer is Independent Access Supplies which will display and
demonstrate several examples from its wide range of kit. As a JLG
distributor it will show the JLG 26 rough-terrain scissor.
HMF (UK) is well-known for its lorry loading cranes, see three
new-Series models on the stand. The 850 is an 8t/m machine, the
1110 is an 11t/m crane and the 1250 can handle 12t/m. The 'Ultimate
Muckaway' 1144 will also be there.
Ainscough Crane Hire will be showing the brand-new 180tonne Demag
on site as it passes through on its way to a life of hard work.
It'll be surrounded by lots of smaller cranes too but remember
Ainscough has models up to 500t in its hire fleet.

Scissor lift
Pinguely-Haulotte is very big in France and this year Direct Access
Platform (its distributor) will display scissor lift models to 17m
height, artic booms to 21m height and various other representative
models. Brand new are the H25TPX telescopic boom with four wheel
drive platform and fly jib and a 10m personnel lift ideal for
factory maintenance.
DAP will also show several examples from Camborne Engineering's
Interlift range including models able to be mounted on a 3.5t GVW
van.
Access Industries has a new 17m teleboom platform mounted on an
Iveco 40.10 chassis with four-wheel drive. It's actually the UK
launch at SED'97. There will be a couple of Multitel units on show
too with a hefty J346TA offering 46m working height. Go and inspect
them and be impressed.
facelift
Facelift is quite a nifty name for an access hire company which
specialises in road-mobile access kit. It will demonstrate its
latest Bronto 440X which will go to 47m if that's what you need.n
