SLD introduces portable traffic light system
After three years of research and development, SLD Pumps has
introduced the Road-Ready portable traffic light system.
The engine is run by Calor gas which does not have the problems of
diesel fuel or petrol which, when spilled, can dissolve road
surfaces.
Calor gas is a reliable fuel that does not need to be evaporated in
the carburettor like a liquid fuel and will operate down to -40
degrees centigrade. The Road-Ready sets use 13kg bottles which last
more than a week.
The low compression ratio of the engine and the carefully designed
enclosure ensure a quiet machine. The sets are ready for use and,
as the lightheads are already set up, the problem of lifting heavy
lightheads out of trailers is avoided. By fitting wheels to the
lightheads, they can be unclipped from the trailer and wheeled into
position.
