German truck maker MAN has launched an all-encompassing contract
maintenance programme for its recently introduced F2000 tractor
units.
According to the firm the scheme has been launched to meet
increased operator demand for fixed repair and maintenance
contracts.
Its latest package, branded as Triple A, is designed to offer 24,
36, 48 or 60 month contracts for a fixed monthly outgoing. It
covers one-off servicing bills and unexpected costs, such as major
component replacements or unscheduled roadside repairs.
Claimed to be a market leader amongst big truck after sales
packages, it includes all routing servicing. It also covers the
cost of oils, filters and lubricants, standard specification
repairs, including the replacement of "wear and tear" items (parts
that have worn through normal usage), general and pre-MOT test
inspection, steam cleaning and presentation of a vehicle for its
annual road worthiness test.
Additionally, all "O" licence inspections are undertaken as part of
the Triple A agreement.
The scheme also includes a 24-hour roadside recovery scheme which
lasts the life of the contract, and will provide the equivalent
cost of a replacement vehicle should the truck be out of service
for more than 24 hours.
Buyers of F2000 tractor units can make use of the package within 12
months of purchase, provided the truck has covered less than
250,000 miles.
