Three attracted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital scheme
The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital's œ30 million Private Finance
Initiative scheme in Shropshire has attracted a shortlist of three
consortia.
The line-up includes a team led by Clugston Construction, a
Kvaerner/Kings Sturge team and one team without a contractor called
Bute Healthcare, which comprises Gardiner Merchant, Bonvilsgon,
RKW, Capita and Donaldson.
The scheme involves a œ15 million project to centralise
services from two outdated sites - the Victorian ear Eye, Ear and
Throat Hospital and the Copthorne South Hospital, which is largely
housed in old army huts.
The services will be accommodated into a new building on a site at
Mytton Oak Road. Some œ15 million worth of maintenance work is
also included in the contract.
A spokewoman for the hospital said that the timetable for the
project had not yet been worked out, but expected it to be
finalised over the next week or two.
