œ100m Pompey project gets OK

Portsmouth's œ100 million Millennium Landmark project at Gunwharf Quay has been granted outline planning permission by Portsmouth City Council.

The Berkeley/Lordland consortium's scheme comprises factory outlet shopping, restaurants, leisure facilities, offices, a hotel and a housing complex.

However, the size of the retail element means the scheme must be sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for approval.
