Morrison gains london leisure contract

Morrison Developments has won detailed planning consent from Enfield Borough Council in London for a £17 million, 22,110m2 leisure complex with community sports facilities at the junction of Southbury Road and the A10 in Enfield. The complex will include a 3,220m2 sports facility with swimming pool, a sports hall, 15-screen Virgin multiplex cinema and a number of restaurants.

HBG starts work in city of london

HBG Construction has begun work on a £7.5 million office development at 6-16 St Andrew Street in the City of London for client Helical Bar. The seven-storey structure is due for completion in summer 1999. Architect is The Halpern Partnership.

Linpave lands £7m university third phase

Linpave Building, part of Universal Construction Services Group, has won a £7 million contract for the third phase of new student accommodation work at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside at the Lincoln University Campus. Linpave also won the two previous phases.

Ernest Ireland to build cinema complex

Ernest Ireland Construction, part of John Mowlem, has been awarded a £6.8 million contract by the Sheridan Group for the IMAX cinema project in Bournemouth. The 5,520m2 facility will include a 380-seat IMAX cinema, themed restaurants and other attractions.
