Aggregate Industries combines concrete

Aggregate Industries is uniting the operations of its four ready-mixed concrete brands. The new division brings together Douglas Concrete, London Concrete, Bardon Concrete and the group's interests in RMC (South West). The division will be based at Bardon Hill, Leicestershire.

Film reveals avonmouth story

Holidaymakers heading for the south west now have the chance to see a film showing the reasons for the long traffic delays in the Avonmouth Bridge. The Highways Agency has commissioned the film to reveal what is happening inside the bridge and is showing it at the M5 Gordano Service Station.

New Chief for Foster Wheeler

Ian Bill is the new chairman and chief executive of Foster Wheeler, the Reading-based international engineering contractor. The company has 3,000 employees worldwide.

Court bans fixed-price Agreements

The Restrictive Practices Court has banned four companies from continuing with agreements through which they secretly fixed the prices of ceiling tiles in the UK. They were Ceilings Distribution of Sheffield, CP Supplies of Birmingham, Commercial Ceiling Factors of Reading and Capco Interior Supplies.

Ray wookey becomes Charterhouse MD

Charterhouse Construction Materials, the brick factor, has a new md, Ray Wookey, who has taken over from David Miles. With a £12 million-a-year turnover, Wookey plans to become market leader in the south of England.

new Chief and chairman for TAy homes

John Swanson is the new chief executive of Tay Homes. He had been md and a main board director since 1992. Norman Stubbs, one of the founders of the company, is the new chairman.
