birse to begin woking scheme

Birse Construction is to start work this month on a £12m scheme for Frogmore Estates in Woking, Surrey. The 7,360m2 office building has been pre-let to Cap Gemini, which already occupies an office building adjacent to the development.

dartford council seeking partner

Dartford Borough Council is seeking a development partner to develop a 98ha site in Dartford, Kent. It wants its partner to procure the finance, design and construction of a range of buildings. The council is proposing to construct a logistics park, a business park, a business innovation centre, a science park and a residential community of 750 dwellings.

Bramall Construction, a Keepmoat Group company, is being tipped to win a contract which could be worth £30m to upgrade almost 12,000 dwellings owned by the Defence Housing Executive, part of the MoD. Work is due to start in January 1999 on the extendible two year project.

Newtonabbey Borough Council in County Antrim is inviting tenders for a £7.5m refurbishment of a 2,500m2 former mill building, along with the construction of new buildings to provide a new town hall, civic facilities, offices, museum, restaurant, car park and landscaping.

College seeks out quad interest

Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in Kensington, London is seeking expressions of interest in a £6.1m project for the part conversion and refurbishment of the Beit Quad along with some new build.



It is understood that when the houses are upgraded they will be sold to and then leased back from a mystery Japanese company.
